One of my first days in Brazil. Randas Batista, that country's best known heart surgeon, brought me to his ranch. That was where he went to get away from the hospital and surgery and be around the physical labor that he liked so much.
At the time I made this photo he was talking to some ranch hands who were getting our horses ready for a ride, or maybe trimming their manes or hair on their tails. The afternoons on the ranch were long and relaxed, nothing really got done beyond the feeding of the horses, but that was the idea.
photo just happened. I had a camera across my shoulder, saw something that looked
like a photo, and reacted.
